Question T 56 Spedo

Hello fellow stang lovers, I need your assistance. I had a T-56 installed in my 96 Cobra. My issue is what modifications have to be made for the spedo to work properly? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Your car chassis is the SN95, where this is the S197 chassis sub-forums.

I do not know if swapping in a T56 into an SN95 is the same as swapping one into an S197, but JPC Racing has actually adapted the T56 to be mounted to S197s.
You may want to give them a call to see if you would have to buy a new speedo to make it work on SN95s

Since the engine bolt paters to the bell housings are the same for the 4.6L modulars, I am thinking the speedo hook-ups for SN95 would be the same as in an S197.

I believe the '96 had the analog gauges, so you will need the speed gear for that tranny. The newer SN95's ar electronic and use no transmission speed gear.

There is no 'gear' to buy for the swap to earlier years.
What you need is the Dallas Mustang Speed Call II (NOT the original Speed Cal). It will allow you to use the T56 in your car. Talk to Justin at DM (1-800-MUSTANG). You'll need to wire it in, then drive a known 10 miles (follow someone, or drive a marked route). Get the number off your trip odometer (it won't be 10), and tell him what it is. He'll tell you how to set the switches to calibrate it correctly. It will vary by car. This method also accounts for tire size and rear end gears.

Whatever you do, don't try to use the original Speed Cal instructions online, they won't work at all for this.
