Question HOW OFTEN OF OIL CHANGE YOU RUN?

alright guys ive had my 2002 mustang gt conv since july now and gone about 3000 miles since then. i have royal purple full synthetic in it and im wondering how long i can go on it. ive heard anywhere from do normal oil changes at 3-5k and up to 10k or more if it isnt eating oil which at 39k miles i hope not!! so any opinions on when to change it and what you guys do would be great thanks!

On my '04, 5-6K with M1 full synth. I'm sure I could push 10K, especially if I haven't gotten on it that hard.

I'm running M1 synth, and I do the same length (Aim to do 5k, get around to it at 6k). I saw they had some M1 synth that is supposed to be changed every 15k, not sure if I'm willing to give that a try just yet...

M1 is Mobil 1. It is definitely less expensive, and if you ask me at least as good as RP. If I wasn't an M1 fan, I would just say any name-brand full synth will give you close enough to the same protection.

Think it was around the same here for RP. I've heard nothing but good things about M1 and have had zero issues so why switch. I also used the M1 ATF when I changed the transmission fluid, but stuck with RP for the rear diff for the gear install.
