Ok, well some facts for you. A 68 mustang coupe or fastback doesnt way anywhere near 4 thousand pounds. Second he doesnt have the same engine as you. You have a 281 cubic inch single over head cam v8. He has a 289 cubic inch pushrod motor, most likely with a carburator. Its gonna be an interesting race though. I think you will just barely edge him out.

those cars don't wieght much at i pretty sure they wiegh under 3000 pounds, but it all depends on whats done to the motor , i wouldn't worry to much about theier was this i used to work with that a 68 cougar i rode in it and i almost asked him if he was flooring it , it was that slow

for those of u who don't believe me on the wieght of those cars heres a sight i did not belive it when i first heard it

dude a 68? made with a steel. No way that it weighs under 3000 lbs. I'm not saying it's a tank neiher. Put it into prespective I think rsx's type s weigh at most 2800 lbs.

A lot of newer cars are actually heavier now because of all the sound deadening and reinforcements. I think and eclipse ways near 3500 pounds.

The new corvette Z06 weighs 3,132lbs. and that is one hell of a light car, it's made up of composite materials. So 4000 lbs. does not sound too far off.

I think you should be able to take him depending on how your driving is.
