Removing the rear 2 stock cats from stock h pipe?

all the shops i called said its illegal and if the car comes in with 4 cats it needs to leave with 4 cats..

That IS federal law. Some areas just look the other way.

Why do people worry about the smell ? If anything it's just going to smell like fuel. I always ditch the cats on my vehicles when doing exhaust.

ive ridden behind cars that have horrible smelling exhaust, it sucks
usually its older and loud cars which is why i thought it may be caused by lack of cats
