is my power/boost levels safe on stock motor?
im on 11 psi well 11.9psi according to dyno sheet to be exact, im making 366rwhp&363rwtrq on 12*timing non ic right now in a stalled 01 gt auto. Now after reading a ton of threads alot seem to say anything past 10psi on our 99-04 2v is pushing it is that true? are my power levels safe any left in it or this about it safely? just wanna know cause many people say most on my psi levels dont have their car last long and blow motors? just wanna know the truth here before I start making alot of passes in a few months?

I once asked a tuner friend with over 30 years Ford experience "How much rwHP can a stock PI engine handle?" With absolutely no hesitation he said "They blow at 420 to 425, you can set your watch by it."
If you literally mean that at 12 psi, without an intercooler, you will be "making alot of passes in a few months"--and assuming you and I have similar definitions of "alot"--then the answer is no, you will likely blow the engine...

now when you say 420-450 is that to the crank or whp? and I am just a casual test n tune guy maybe shouldnt of said alot? but my timing is pretty conservative 12*timing so should I be good even at 11-12psi?

I've heard 450 is about the limit, however I've personally seen a few 450+ cars with stock pi engines doing just fine.
Best thing I can suggest is get an ic on that thing, than take it to a real tuner. You should be making more power than 366 on 12psi

op has an auto which would prolly be close to 400 thru a manual, and with only 12* timing that sounds right to me. I agree tho just throw an intercooler on it and be done. it'll drop down to about 10 but you wont lose power and will gain consistency.

Zinsavage123 different forum: anyway i decided to go back to the 3.6 pulley for my own personal assurance rather be safe then sorry. My research says it was too much psi&power on stock bottom end for everyday use. When I get my shortblock built I will go harder. I am getting the car redynoed sunday I will let you guys know new numbers+my psi and take some pics maybe then, but for what it WAS worth and future reference I made 396whp and over 400rwtrq on 13 psi w/3.33pulley+afm powerpipe non ic!! in a 01 gt auto stalled not bad imo. I am going to ask him for that dyno sheet as well for the hell of it on those old numbers http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...some-s-12.html

As to the various anecdotal report of 450+, etc.--of course that happens, all rules have exception--however if I were boosting a 2V with a stock bottom end I would nonetheless stick with the opinion of tuner that's been working with Mustangs for 30 years, and has designed tuning systems for all three of the major vendors...

yeah ORIGINALLY(got dyno sheet to prove it) I was at 396rwhp&386rwtrq@13psi on 3.33pulley in a stalled AUTO like he showed you guys a few posts up, just wanted to know cause everyone says over 10psi on these cars is problems so wanna see if im good to go or should be worried on my current numbers?
