Yea, I've never actually saw a 98 with a returnless fuel setup. Mine was a return setup, but the tank and lines were similar to a returnless system because it had a return style pump in a hat assembly in the center of the tank. As for disconnecting the lines, idk I've never took them loose there before.

Here are some pics

This is what the clip looks like

And for the other I like to use needle nose pliers. The Bent kind seem to work best but I'm sure normal ones work also

Squeeze the tabs together and push the clip down and out of the tabs

Pull the line off and take the white clip off the metal fuel line

Put it back in the rubber fuel line. It must go all the way down in the pic. it still needs to lock into the tabs

When re installing the fule line with the round clip will just click back on providing you put it back on the rubber line correctly.
The pull clip you put the rubber line on the metal one and slip the clip back into the hose. You will probably have to more the rubber line up and down slightly to get it to go all the way in

Holy information, BraMas! That was one hell of a detailed writeup for what I needed. I really appreciate that! As for your instructions on putting it back together, they are irrelevant lol. I'm going to clamp fuel injector hose to the metal lines and run them to mark Viii lines for my swap that is in progress. Thanks for the all the help!
