Staggered setup

Staggered setup
I decided to get the staggered 03 cobra 17" wheels. The wheels are 17x9 front and 17x10.5 rear. What would be the ideal tire sizes for my car.. Like the best width for front and back. I was looking into 265 front and 285 back.

I just don't want to get 315's. Too much for me. I was thinking of maybe going to 295 rear and 275 front would that work.

I am going from a 245/45/17 stock tire on an 8" rim. I am getting staggered 17x9 and 17x10.5.
I am going to go with 265 front and 295 back. Should I use 265x45 and 295/45 or do 265x40 and 295x40. Should I stay with the same profile since I am staying on the same size rim. Or what??

Eddy... it is generally best to stick with an OEM diameter tire
This diameter is 25.6", so you will need to lower the profile a bit, when going wider, to maintain the OEM specs. A 265/40/17" will be 25.4" diameter and will be just fine. Your "inbetween" with a 295/35/17", as it is 25.1, but far less likely to give you ABS sensor issues, than a 295/40/17".

I agree with JAZZER that you need to watch your tire diameters closely. Do you have a handheld tuner to tweak your speedometer for changes in tire diameter?
I run 275-40-17 and 315-35-17 on my car and wouldn't dream of going narrower, but that is just my preference.
Are you buying the tires locally, or buying them on-line?
If locally, you can mount one and check it out for fitment to see if you like it or not.
