do you think i will be fine though or should i get some wheel spacers??

anderman 01-16-2012 11:57 PM

i know a guy who is running 295's on his 96 cobra thats lowered and he has rubbing issues.

Sorry, i thought you had 18 inch wheels. IMO, with 17's I don't think it will rub.

The off-set is key here, but the right one will be fine...

I would figure to at least roll your fenders a little bit, as your UCA's may allow a bit more lateral movement of axle and create rubbing on corners.

The offset is 27mm

A 17"x10.5" wheel with +27mm off-set will work fine on your '98 :D

I would still recommend you peep the fender clearance and consider at least flipping the quads, or just removing them completely.

Ditching the quads is a smart move. When I swapped my current 18x10s to the '98 it's the first place they rubbed. (Where off my 2000 and that never had an issue with rubbing and that car sits MUCH lower.) Interesting to learn the offset works on the 99-04 cars, but not the 94-98 cars.
