should i swop my 99 motor 4 an 04???
my 99 gt has 36k miles on it. I bought the car with 28k miles on it 5 months ago and it was garage kept and adult driven. i just installed the new "updated" aluminum intake manifold.
i have the opportunity to swop my motor with an 04 motor with 4k miles on it for like 500 bucks. THe only thing is...this motor was pushing 420 rwhp. It had a supercharger and slp loudmouths with resonators and other goodies for alteast 2k miles worth of driving. It was adult owned and driven but im sure the guy had fun with it. My question to you guys, what should i do? Going from a motor with 36k to 4k seems like im gaining a more fresh, reliable motor for 500 dollars...but then when u factor in the fact that it was pushing that much hp...maybe its not????
I just want to have whichever motor is in the best condition and will give me the most likelyhood of being reliable. so....waddaya guys think?
Other than the intake manifold are there any other differences between my 99 motor and the 04?

RE: should i swop my 99 motor 4 an 04???
yeah well the story is that my friend has a 96 gt convertible with 95k miles and its draggin *** badly. His friends father is the guy with the 04 blown gt. Hes having Mustang Magic build him a worked motor from the ground up so hes gettin rid of the stocker to my friend for 2000 bucks. I asked him if he would be interested in the swop and he said he was. Cause he has 3 other stangs and as long as he gets a newer taken care of motor he is happy. Me, well im **** and he knows that so he understands.

i dont understand why he doesn't sell it of give it to his son? is the guy that he is selling it to his son? i dont know but iu know the 96 GT needs it more then you do. you have a PI motor with 36k and the npi motor has 95k. its your choice, with the blower only being on for 2k miles that really is not that much, unless he was running like 12-13Psi then that would not be good.
