Yes.... the old position for years has been: that if you are staying N/A then 410's, Blown 373's. Like I said, with stock tires and 373's top speed in 4th is 122-125, I am S/C'ed and trap @ a highest 117-118, perfect. My Paxton 2000 pulls like a **** right up to the rev limiter....

With 410's top speed is less 122-125 at redline in 4th, Somewhere around 108, I think, someone with 410's please correct me if I am wrong; thus if I was S/c'ed with 410's I'd have to shift into 5th in the 1/4 mile; you don't want to do that.

4.10s will give you the most torque multiplication and subsequently the best acceleration. You wouldn't regret 4.10s unless you plan to run with more than ~335rwhp. Beyond that, you have to consider your trap speed in the 1/4 and if you will be turning too many rpm at that speed and need to shift into overdrive ratio. That is the only reason that I swapped out my 4.10s for 3.90s.

As mentioned above, if you are really torn between 3.73 and 4.10, just get 3.90s and be done with it. DO NOT wait any longer to get gears! You will hate yourself later if you do.

GOOD LUCK!!!
Good advice bro, but damn in the 1/4 mile, you are WAY close to topping out in 4th gear with 3.90's, with stock tire size, that is.

Yeah, but swapping tires size is a pain in the ***, and on on the street he'll have to go back to stock tire size, and risk getting his *** handed to him because of the relatively slow top speed in 4th redlined.

its a pain in the *** to switch rims?? takes me all of ten minutes, max.. keep in mind, most people who take their track times seriously, but still DD, have a set of track rims/tires. and didn't you just comment on another thread about how you don't race on the streets?? just sayin, haha.

i see what you're sayin, but i don't think shifting into 5th during a street race is as crucial as when running at the track, which he should have his taller tires ready for. get the 4.10s! you'll freakin love it!

This thread is getting a little tedious for me now.
Good luck!

Now I'm seriously contemplating 3.90s which was never in my thought process. I wish I had a few stands side by side with all of them to play with :P I'm a strict road guy, but that is bound to change.

Hi bro, no I don't street race in the pure sense of the word, you know, lining up and letting it rip at 3 honks. Only did it once in the 9 years I've had my Pony, up against a white '69 Camaro; at a light, it was built, with huge slicks on the back. He got the drop on me, we were running neck to neck until I hit 110, then I started to pass him, so I got off it. I will, about 10% of the time, fool around with someone who comes up my *** or screws with me some other way. I get a lot of Rednecks down here on SC driving big Dodge pickups; go figure. I guess it's a phsycological thing with me; having to shift into overdrive at about 110+. I am even seriously thinking about 390's; with them I should hit 100 in 3rd, 130+ in 4th. With me, knowing what you have is good enough for me.
As for swapping tires at the trap, once again you are correct, but to me it's a pain in the ***, I'm 58 years old; I am a member or AAA. Too bad I can't call them at the track to change my tires lol! See ya.

I had 4.10s in my 03 GT and now have them in my 03 MACh 1. Absolutely love them. You will not be disappointed.
