Default Anyone who has ever heard of a knock from the bellhousing area

I started hearing a LOUD knock from under the middle of the car, loudest on the drivers side, last night. So I got home, still knocking and parked it.

I knew it wasn't a rod knock, as the sound is slightly different.

So I put the car in the air today and took the inspection cover off and what do I find?

The throw out bearing fork is slapping the sides of the bellhousing where it comes through..... So now I get the joy of taking it apart and replacing it, and the cheap chinese ToB I used that came with the RAM HDX kit.

My theory is that I used a questionable clutch fork, and cheasy ToB, and they let go....

Anyone have a different theory?

Did u try pushing the clutch fork inwards to make sure it didn't pop off the socket ball which it rides on? Could be a bad clutch fork IMO, check the fingers on the clip.

I think it is bad. I cheaped out when I did the clutch when the 32V went in. This one was questionable, along with the cheapie ToB that came with the clutch kit.

Tomorow morning I'm going to call Tousley Ford Parts and order a ToB and fork from them.

edit: thinking on it now, I bet it did pop off. Everything was normal and then one night about 5 days ago it was all I could do to get the clutch to disengage/engage to shift gears.
