Iv replaced a lot of steering related parts in my 2003 gt just trying to get it to feel right, i just recently replaced my rack bushing with moog ones because the rack was moving back a forth a few mm just lightly turning steering wheel left to right, but it hasnt seemed to help at all the rack still has too much play, its still rocking back a forth a few mm.

Any ideas of what i could do to fix the issue is appreciated

Did you shorten the stand offs that go through the bushings?

I was also thinking maybe there's different shaped washers to tighten up the bushings some more.

I didn't shorten the standoffs but if i did how much do u recommend taking off thanks.

Trim off about a tenth of an inch. Tighten to 52 ft lbs. CliffyK has a guide for the whole job and a link somewhere here. Maybe he will chime in with the link.

The OEM "tube brackets" as Ford calls them are 1/10" to 1/8" too long...
