Question 2000 mustang GT not starting

Hi everyone

My car is not starting; I was driving it fine on Friday all day and then I went to turn it on today (Sunday) and it wont start. I thought it was a battery problem so I tried charging it with my battery charger, but the same thing happened. It turns on but shuts off immediately. I tried turning it on and holding onto the gas and it revs but shuts off instantly again. I had this happen on my old mustang and it was because the cold air intake sensor fell out. I check the sensors on it and it looks fine... I'm stumped?! What could be causing this?

Is the IAC valve hooked up? I left mine unhooked once after tinkering under the hood and it did just that until I hooked the hose back up.

Where is this located? I think it is a sensor problem too..well I do know i filled up my tank @ Husky in a small town because it was cheaper..maybe it could be bad gas.

I have the OBD code reader on me but I can't find the plugin anywhere...usually its below the steering wheel. Anyone know where it is? Or can provide a picture because I can't find it anywhere!!

If the check engine light is off, then you probably won't through any codes.

When you turn on the car to accessory, can you hear the fuel pump turn on? How long has it been since you've changed the fuel filter (could be clogged, and it's very cheap/simple to swap a new one to check)?

I can't remember but I will try tomorrow morning. It must turn on because the car starts..but shuts off instantly. I never changed the fuel filter..i bought the car 5 months ago and it has 80,000 kms right now. I am getting it towed to the mechanic tomorrow so I will buy a fuel filter before i take it him beforehand.

Shouldn't cost you more than $10-15 for him to change it. It's a 5 minute job when it's up on the lift.
