Default BBk longtube headers...

So i was looking into to doing BBK longtube headers with a shorty X, but then i saw that they only fit mustangs with a manual transmission. Why is this?

From what ive seen or read. Very few headers installed will allow you to pull the trans without having to pull the headers. This was the main reason why i went with kooks. They are custom fabbed to where you can pull the trans and leave headers up. This is such a nightmare job. The last thing ill ever want to do again is LT'S. good luck

This has nothing to do with the OPs original question, weather he has a manual trans or an automatic one of the long tubes has to come off to remove the transmission.

go with MAC's, easier install from what i've heard. BBK's were a nightmare... I think the reason is because the auto "box" takes up more space than the manual. where the tubes start bunching up and eventually form into the collector must be taken into account for clearance.
