Is either one a drag radial? Is it a nt555r or just a plan compound nt555. Id get rid of them and just ge a set o drag radials

Now if its just the compound nt555, would i be better off investing in 2 radials?

Yes.
The NT555 is OK for street use, but not very good for drag passes.
The NT555R is far grippier if heated up properly.

However, if two tires will be bought just for track use, I would highly recommend ET Street Radials. They are better still than the NT555R.

Are we talking 'drag' track? (Wasn't really specified.)

I'd skip buying a mate for either and look into some better rubbber. MT's or BFG drag radials will give you more bite than the Nitto will.
