Default Cracked oil filter housing/adapter?

Hey all. New to the forum, and out seeking help. I guess this is a good start.

I have a 96 GT, It had been leaking oil slowly for around a year. Well this got a lot worse about a week ago. Oil started pouring out pretty bad. I raised up the car to see where it was coming from, and I noticed a crack right where the oil pressure sending unit screws in. At first I thought the block was ruined, but after looking into it some more, I noticed there is a piece attached the the engine (4.6) that allows the sending unit and oil filter to be attached. I have been searching everywhere for a part to replace this, (autozone, pep boys, etc) and I can not find what this part is called, and where I can order it from. Any more information on what I am dealing with hear will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Your best bet would be a wrecking yard.

Id definitely try a salvage yard. I had the same thing happen to mine in the same spot and I bought one new from late model resto and it was about $150 bucks...

Thanks for the response! A buddy of mine had a wrecked 2002 Explorer with a 4.6 in it. Do you think the one out of this explorer will work on my mustang? He said something about the oil filter being in a different location.

Or will this work? http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...Cooler-Adapter

Says its for a cobra 4v engine, but will it work on a normal 4.6? ..sigh.. I need to get this fixed asap.

Give latemodelresto a call, I'm sure they'll know what you need

Do you have an oil cooler on your car? And it's out of stock too.

Oh, thank God I can grow a beard and am uninterested in picking up other men on message forums!
