Question New Tires

Alrighty, unfortunately its that unlucky time of which i "NEED" new tires, as in, im riding on "may-pops" now. So I've been looking around for affordable yet good quality tires, and ive seen some on americanmuscle.com Right now, the front tires are 255/35/17 and the backs are 315/45/17 Thats all i have from memory righ tnow as it is kind of late here and i have work in the morning.

So if someone who is more savy in this field then i am could suggest a good brand and type for me i would greatly appreciate it, this is my first mustang but i have ogled over them since i was a kid. I'm currently learning from a friend how to maintnence my veichle and keep the motor and pipes clean.

If this information helps in what type of tires i need well, her eit is lol.

I live in a town in Oklahoma, its not very big, and sometimes i drive to texas, I would say that sometimes im a little harsh on the tires, but i don't burn rubber, yet I like to drive my Stang through most weather but if it gets rough i use my other car. I'm not a speed demon but i do like to show what i have under the hood sometimes. As i said, im still learning ALOT about my veichle and would love to learn more. currently im looking into taking classes at Votech. But anyways back OT, What are good tires for me? Right now i need the front tires replaced A.S.A.P. I don't really have a budget, but i am looking at something from 140$ to around 220$ per tire, preferably on the cheaper side, i know the back tires are going to cost more, but i dont need those just yet. but soon =/ Thanks for any help and if there are any questions or misunderstandings please let me know.

i got my mustang this summer and it had the original gatorbacks on it. and i bought Goodyear Eagle GTs. Great tire for me so far! I have about 5k miles on them and tread depth is still like 90%. they have a nice tread pattern and not too expensive either. very good all season tire. and i bought mine from tirerack and will buy my next set of tires from them as well. cant beat their deals!

I'l take a look into it, now for a more specific question, does the measurements that i have such as 255/35/17 in the front and the 315/45/17 on the back really matter? do i need to try to keep the fronts smaller than the back or what? like i sai dim knew to this lol

I believe the previous owner said the rims were not stock, they are 17's i know that for sure. is R17 different from just saying 17?

no R17 is the same as just 17" and ok then its up to you what to run in the back. 315 would be a little wider i think and dont know how they would wear. mine is a daily driver so i got the same all the way around.

in order to run a 315 in the back it's gotta have a 10.5" rim out back, and most likely a 9" in front. for the fronts you could go down to a 245/45 to save some costs. for the rear stay between a 295-315. also i think you have your sizes wrong, you most likely have a 315/35/17, not a 315/45. for fronts, you could go with mostly any brands unless you are an autocrosser and need extra hook.

Hmm, well i drive mine everyday aswell, and i wouldnt mind burning some rubber everynow and then, so i think il let them be wider in the back, woiuld the hire profile help the ride any? if so il probably let them have the same height or go with 40 in front 45 in the back. and keep the widths where there at already. and i like those tires you posted, they look nice and have a nice pattern and a very nice price
