Do you have to fish them in from underneath or can you get them in from up top?

if you have an engine hoist, you could do it from the top. otherwise, you hafta drop the K member. that goes for shorties or long tubes.

OK, so I do think it may be the midpipe/manifold joint that is leaking. I really don't want to screw around with it, so I will go to the shop that screwed it up originally and see what they have to say about it.

Now for yet another issue that I will try to get an answer here before starting a new thread... on the passenger valve cover, there is what I would guess is a PCV valve that is then connect to the far side of the TB. Just before it plugs into the TB, there is a 'rubber' 90* elbow that has cracked and got a hole in it. I taped up the hole and that seems to be holding, but it appears there is a lot of negative pressure that is virtually collapsing that section of rubber hose. Is this little rubber elbow hard to obtain, or is it something that is fairly common out in the aftermarket world? And what would it be called? Is the 'PCV valve' bad causing the crushing, or is that much pressure normal (at least at idle)?
Before I taped that piece, the car would idle rough and have sluggish throttle response, but after taping it, the car has trouble maintaining an idle, but the idle is relatively smooth, and wants to die. The throttle response has greatly improved.

Pretty sure that is the PCV valve your talking about. The reason its collapsing the tape is its a vacuum line. Your engine is creating maximum vacuum at idle. Roughly 25Hg. Vacuum leak will cause rough crappy idle. Don't know where you could obtain a new rubber elbow, but a boneyard would be a good place to start. Sure you could find something that could be made to work.
