Default What do i do at this point?



This is where the thermostat housing bolt goes from the manifold, the original owners broke the bolt so it left me the stud and they made their own threads on the intake manifold and i never knew about this until the manifold finally gave out and got a crack on the back.

I tried to remove this with a extractor, that broke and I tired to drill that out, and now im left with this.

If i say "forget it and not put the bolts" would i get a leak or anything like that cause i know its pretty stupid to do that.

The possibility of it leaking is good, get a good high speed drill and bit and drill it out and re tap if u haveto, when drilling constantly add cutting fluid.

You need to find a machine shop with a tap disintegrator.

He said he has a broken screw extractor in there now as well--there's no drilling that out with a hand held drill, even with a carbide bit...

20 years ago, $30, but you would have had to bring them the head back then.

In modern times with portable equipment, I don't have a clue...
