01GT wont start after winter storage.
I put my 2001 mustang GT away around october. I just store it in the back yard for the winter months, moth ***** and all. I had no problems starting it in december just to see if it would and it popped right off. but now it will not start. It turns over just fine but no signs of firing. it was near empty when i stored it and put a gallon of new gas in last week. the theft light does not flash or come on while im turning it over. the fuel pump reset switch is already down. Im not sure what else I can check or do, after searching all starting failure forums lol. So i thought id make my own thread for specific after storage issues. Thanks in advance guys!

Just a shot in the dark but, I'd say put a few gallons in and turn the key all the way foward without starting it to push the fuel up to engine. Then try starting it after 10-20 seconds. Can you hear your fuel pump running? fuel filter? ( maybe it got clogged up from sediment in the bottom of your tank)

My car sat for about 2-3 weeks and the fuel pump was a goner. I imagine it was on its way out but sitting took it the rest of the way. Not saying that's your issue, but listen to see if you hear the pump running. If it's not running, there's still at least 3 things to check before thinking it's the pump itself... the fuses, relays, the emergency kill switch in the trunk, the module in the trunk... maybe some other things. But it seems 10 years is about the limit on these stock pumps, hehe. Mine's an '01 with 90k.

I couldnt ever really hear it, thats why im kind of confused as to which way to go. I pulled the back seats down and when i turn the key on I hear 3 fast little ticks back there. but thats it. But ive never really taken the time to listen to it before, so I've been kindof assuming its quiet because its a newer vehicle (yeah....2001 is new to me lolol). just rolled 76k before I put it away. I bought it from a dealer and all the books were gone so the fuses are all random to me. does anyone know where i can find a good diagram?
But the fuel pump would make sense, took her out for one last time last summer near E, not being as nice as i should be, and then sat. probably grabbed some junk from the bottom.

You should be able to hear your pump run at the fuel tank, when you switch the key to the 'on' position. Try it a few times. It will make a whirring sound for a second or two then stop. If you can't hear it. Get someone to go to the back of your car and listen, when you switch it on and off.
Also, make sure your battery is fully charged. I store my car for the winter every year. My pump was acting weird last spring, with a weak battery. It sounded like it was laboring I turned the key to 'on'. When it started, my engine was loping like it had a big cam in it.
I figured I would be replacing my pump last summer. But, I put a new battery, ethanol treatment and a fuel system cleaner in it and haven't had a problem yet.
I just had it out last Sunday, since it was so nice and it fired right up. Put about 60 miles on it with no problems, and it still has the same pump.
