The noise in the valve cover is likely a collapsed lash adjuster. Pretty easy fix really. When you did the timing chain, did you change the tensioners? They too can rattle. And yeah man, I have been there before, heck I am there now with my T-bird SC.

Yea we changed the tensioners, the chains, the cam gears, the crank gears, the rails. We changed everything. I'll look into the lash adjuster though.

Ok, so today we got the MAF and Throttle body cleanded, the throttle body was surprisingly dirty. The chattering was the pcv valve on the passenger side valve cover... who would have thought... The hesitation is still there. We tried to get the throttle position sensor off but the screws won't budge and we don't want to strip the screws so we are going to have to find a way to get that off. We are completely stumped as to what is causing this hesitation now. This car seems to be nothing but trouble! On a side note, once you get past like 3k-3.5k rpm there is no hesitation if you stomp on the throttle. On another side note, don't test for throttle hesitation in a 25 mph zone, you will get a speeding ticket, lets add that to the list of problems this car is giving us.

Huh, that is weird on the PCV. Never heard one do that before. Heat or an impact screwdriver for those screws. The hesitation you are describing is most likely the TPS.

Yea the pcv valve wasn't secure and was pretty much just flopping around in the little hole on the valve cover. We stopped for today because we were getting frustrated with it after we got the ticket. We will try again tomorrow. Thanks for your replies they have been really helpful.

Ok we got it fixed! Turns out the plugs were gaped too big... It was such a small problem that we completely over looked it until today. We were so mad at ourselves for overlooking this. I want to thank everybody for their help though! A lot of things you guys listed needed to be replaced anyways, such as the fuel filter, and iac sensor. A mod can close this thread now.
