I have a sound from my engine that sounds like lifter chatter while being put under a load. Every time I load it up like in 5th gear at around 40-45 mph and press hard on the pedal it sounds like lifter chatter. Any thoughts or suggestions?

It is a 03 5spd with 68k on it. I just bought it and I am not sure what mods have been done to it other than a CAI and muffler delete from the previous owner.

Plain ol' detonation, I would guess. What octane are you running?

87 octane, is there a chance of the previous owner using leaving a 93 tune on it? If so how do I get rid of it?

They tend to detonate when you lug em like that.
