oil change?

My manual says 6qts. After changing oil and filter, I add 6qts and its not to the full level. 1/2qt more brings it to the full level. Anyone experience the same??

Newer 'stangs have the deeper pan, and it is 6.5 without a filter fill.

Make sure you pre-fill the filter.

Then put in 5 and turn the car on, let it run for 15-20 seconds, then measure the oil level. Each car will take a different amount, you just have to know how to check it. To say "It's supposed to take 6 quarts" dump in 6 and drive off... That's why we have cars that sieze up at 100,000 miles.
