Hey I am picking up a 96 GT that needs a automatic transmission changed, will one from a 2003 Crown Vic fit or no?

Ub, I think your false on this one... crown vics and truck 4r70ws are 2" shorter and the wiring inside at the valve body is different..

OP, you need a trans from a 96 or 97.... I went thru the hassle when I put a trans in my car about 2 months ago.. but mine is a 99,, there are special years that have different wiring and there are 2 different models and one is 2" longer than the other..

yeah I fought the battle of trying to find a trans about 2 months ago... you can change the wiring and make it work... but its a real hassle from what I found in my searching...

99+'s have a black plastic valve body harness...
98's are all by them selves
and I guess 96-97s have like an actual wire harness or some weird set-up.. I got lucky and found one out of a 99.
