Default TB for a 2000 GT

I'm looking into picking up a new 78mm TB for my 2000 GT. I've put on the CAI already... The BBK 78 mm one seems to have pretty good reviews, I'll get a Tuner at the same time, since in the future I'll probably put on headers and a new cam I'd rather go bigger than a 70 mm.

My question is.....1 - what is a plenum.....? DO you have to put that on with all TB's or only some of them. The one I'm refering to looks like a TB/Plenum combo.. not sure though because some of the pictures of Plenums look way bigger than the TB/Plenum combos shown on AM.

question 2- Does that sound like a good way to go... going with a 78mm instead of a 70...? The Black BBK 78 looks the best IMO... just sayin'

Thanks for any help

If you will change your TB you should change your plenum too because, the plenum and TB (stocks) diameter are the same, so if you change your TB to 78mm you'll have a wall of 8mm between the TB and plenum....

Sorry if i couldn't explain better!!!!

that does explain it, I think, but if you go to the AM website and look at the BKK 78mm one, there are pictures of it inst alled, it looks like there is not a new Plenum with it, so I guess my question is this - do some TB come as a combo without saying they're a combo?

you have to read a little more on the web bro:

More Power. BBK Performance has designed and patented the first Throttle Intake. A Throttle Intake incorporates a high flow intake plenum and a larger 78mm BBK throttle body all in one great performing unit. This throttle intake is a direct bolt-on and is good for an additional 12 to 15 horsepower.
This TB is a TB and plenum in one!!!!

^^^ yeah, if you have mostly a stock car you should stick to a 70 or if u want 75. As soldier said 78mm is too big for an n/a car
