04' GT rear end squeeks badly, advice please?
The rear end on my 04 GT Convertible is squeaking badly while driving, not braking. The sound is something like a squeaky fan belt only it's coming from the rear passenger side of the car. It starts off barely noticeable, but as I drive it becomes louder and more abrasive. I thought it was a problem with the brakes since the pitch of the squeak changes when I brake lightly and stops altogether when I brake hard, so I pulled the wheels off and found the caliper was broken and the rotor was cracked. I replaced all 4 rotors, all 4 brake pads, and the damaged caliper.
This caused the noise to stop for about 2 days before it returned even louder than before. The alignment is good on the car and it rides very smooth. I took it to Meineke and had them check it out, and they found nothing wrong with the brakes. My old man seems to think it could be a problem with the rear axle bearings, but I could find no evidence of damage to them. There was no leaking or seeping grease when I checked them. I've spent about $600 already trying to fix this, but have had no luck. Any advice at all would be very much appreciated.

I don't think this is it (ya never know) but I do know how you feel, it sucks. I had a terrible noise from my driver's rear end. Went through the car on jacks and discovered nothing. I attributed the noise to parts/tools that I had. Then I took them out and about a day later noise returned. So back up on jacks. Found out something I missed the first go around: rear iso's. Looks like my drivers rubber iso's is bad/ falling apart. Your's still good? Best of luck.
