Default Is the oil pan reverseable?

Kind of a weird question, I know, but can the 4.6L pan be flipped around and used as a front sump? I see the issue with the front being 4 8mm pan bolts and the rear being 2, but I figure those can be epoxied shut and two extras drilled in the rear. I am really looking at swapping in a 4.6L into my 70 cougar and I don't want to pay $450 for the canton oil pan and pickup tube.

It won't work, the bolt holes don't even come close to lining up:
