How the heck to change PCV
 

Ive been searching this site and the internet for a while now and just cant figure this out. I know the PCV is on the right valve cover but I cant figure out how to get it out. Also, there is a plug on the end of it that Ive never seen on any other car.

Any suggestions?

You twist it out.

It is an electrically heated valve, which mounts into the cam cover with a bayonet style 1/4-turn twist-lock. Disconnect the electrical connector and turn it anti-clockwise to remove it.

That was too easy... Thanks again for the help. It seemed to be fine so I didnt need to replace it. FYI dont buy a PCV valve from autozone for this car. Its not the same one.

I have not seen the heated one at any FLAPS. Rock Auto has the Motorcraft valve (p/n 2C5Z6A666AA) for $25:

I find no mention of the PCM's monitoring the PCV valve heater so it is likely possible that you could run the unheated valve and just leave the electrical connection up-plugged.

That said however it has been my experience that the heated valves do not get anywhere near as gunked up as do the unheated units, so as was rodvandam experience I have not yet seen one that needed replacing, even at 180k miles!

Yea, Im returning the autozone valve and will let it go. The PCV valve is in good shape. I usually replace them when I tune up the car anyway, just for the sake of feeling more accomplished and the fact that they are usually cheap. lol.
