Keys and remotes. They are pretty cheap. And in case anyone is wondering, if you have two keys, you can program a third yourself. If you ever lose a key, and don't have a spare, and need one made, they aren't cheap!!! I just bought a 2008 Bullitt, and when the dude traded it in, he only gave up one key and one remote. I called the Ford dealer to get a price on a key, and the key, and to have it programmed was over $100.00 A remote was $65. I went back to the dealer where I purchased the car and told them either pester the guy that traded it, or they buy me a spare.

I got the original spare from previous owner.

I'm going to purchase one from RemotesAndKeys.com and get a third spare key and fob, and can program it myself.

Sorry to repost, but am looking for the edit option and can't seem to find it. What I meant to say was that the dealer from whom I bought the car got the extra key from the previous owner, and I'm now going to purchase one (so I'll have three) from the website I mentioned.

However, instead of buying a key and a remote fob, there are actually a couple of options. RemotesAndKeys has this one:
https://www.remotesandkeys.com/Searc...=8G1T-19H316-A

and ebay has this one:

and this one:

My car only came with one key. I need at least one more in case I lose the one I have.

I recently bought another FoMoco 5 button keypad for 40.00 that I installed under the lip by the license plate so that it is out of sight. I've had the car for about 6 years and this is the 2nd one I've had to buy but it's well worth it.

To my mind the keyless entry pad is one of the greatest and most practical options that any Ford has going for it. No worries about locking your keys in your car, just punch in the combination and you're in there.

Default Keyless Entry

My daughter just bought a 1996Ford Mustang. It only came with one key and no fob. I took it to our local Ford Dealership to get a fob and they told me that car never had keyless entry so I needed to go to an aftermarket place to get a fob programmed. Has anyone run into this and is there a way around it?

I had a regular key made at walmart, just to open the door if I need to. Have never needed it, but it does open the door.

You might try calling other Walmarts in your area, my store here was able to make me a chipped key....Of course it was $60, which I believe is about the same as going to a dealer.

Just a thought.
