So im wanting to upgrade my shifter. Yes im going with a tri-x but until i can afford it i was going to go with an low dollar one like this. Is it a waste of cash or better than stock?

I would save your money and wait until you can afford the tri-ax. Personally I would never want to put a cheap product on my car. I don't see anything about a warranty on that shifter and even if it has one I would still question the quality of the product. Just think it probably cost them less than half of retail to make it. My guess is that after the install you will be happy about having more solid and shorter shifts but it won't compare to a tri-ax or other quality shifter. Then your just waiting and hoping that it holds up. Do it right the first time.

May I ask what made you decide on the tri-ax? Great shifter im just curious.

I've got a pro 5.0 myself. Bought it off a friend for $50 bucks. Pretty happy with it.

oh and by the way, theres no such thing as an 83-04 short throw. make sure you get a short throw for your specific tranny, ie. T-45 or T-3650

I have an MGW in my GT and a pro-5 in my cobra. Buddy has a tri-ax in his 97. You really can't go wrong with any of those but I prefer the MGW. Save up man it'll be a great day when you install that shifter!

yep the MGW is also an option. I love the look and imagine it's a great shifter. Probably a toss up between the two. Thanks man for the input.

No problem. I hope you didn't think I was saying that you like to put cheap parts on your car haha. Ya I love the MGW I literally have nothing bad to say about it.
