Default caliper painting help

today I was gonna paint my calipers and I discovered it would be a lot harder than expected...first off i'm not very mechanically inclined...The only jack point I know is the one behind the front wheels, so I started there took off the wheel and discovered there are all sorts of stuff around the caliper like the two black holes with some metal stuff around them and then all these other small things...am I supposed to somehow mask this stuff off...? I thought about removing the whole calipers and i couldent even figure out how to get it off, once I loosed some nut brake fluid or oil starting dripping out so I slowly tightened it back up and decided to find a different way...so please give me some advice guys, thanks...I know i'm an idiot

wow! Dude, stick to driving.

You opened the bledder valve for the brake caliper. Hopefully you didn't suck when you opened the bleeder valve. Take it someone and let them do it...don't mess with brakes if you aren't mechanically inclined.

Lol you can't just take the caliper off. If you do that you make it a lot more complicated such that when you put it back, you have to bleed the brake system (which blows). Personally, I think painting calipers is tacky. I also don't like interior paint. But those are just personal opinions. But to paint them you just have to mask them off and attempt to paint them. Do a couple coats and then sand it down a little bit with fine sand paper and then lay some more coats and sand again. Either way it will eventually fade off.

the best way for you is to get a brush on paint kit so you dont have to take the calipers off, spray ones are a pain in the ***, if you dont do it poroperly you will get overspray everywear.
