Squeaky Clutch?

Squeaky Clutch?
Hey guys, I have a 2000 Mustang GT 4.6 liter manual, everything runs fine and is in great condition but when I start the car with the clutch all the way depressed the clutch makes this little chirping noise. I went under the car to look and it was the connection from clutch pedal to the clutch itself. (See photo) It was just shaking and the sound goes away when I press the pedal in a fraction of an inch. Any ideas on how to keep it from shaking?

Put some grease on the cable end--it looks dry as a bone.
How much free play does the pedal have, should be 1" to 1-1/4", even as much as 1-1/2". Here is how to use the semi-automatic adjuster...
