Default giving up on my sixer :(

i think im finally giving up on the idea to modd my six into keeping up or even beating a gt.....and am starting to plan on swapping the motor and puttin a v8 in...i havent decided between a 4.6 or the 5.0,obviously the 5.0 would be better but 4.6s are easier to find, and cheaper, in my area....i was just wondering if yall know a good site that has a lot of info on the conversion kit and hwat all u have to change out to do this..i know its basically about everything-even the a/c lines....lol and if yall have any advice/opinions on this matter either thatd be aight too...
thanks

it will be alot cheaper and alot more reliable in the long run just to buy a gt, there are so many problems to run into when dealing with engine swaps

The stock 99-04 gt 4.6s produced 45-50 more horsepower then a 5.0 It's going to take full exhaust and several other bolt ons to get the 5.0 in that range.

The 96-98 , 99, and 01 cobra motors produced 305-320 horsepower and equal torque. It's going to take some work to get a 5.0 up to that amount power.

Also, a 4.6 swap would probably be easier since the gt's of your year had 4.6's.

driveterain yes, suspension no. the gt and v6 have the same suspension and brakes. i bet if you searched hard enough you could find a complete engine with ecu and everything offline from a salvage yard database. heres another reminder, you need a new trannie and dash as well!!

ill mention this again like i did on another thread, if you put an older engine into your car it has to be obd2 compliant or you cant pass emmisions, unless your laws are different than they are here in nh. and take it from me, no matter how great a deal you get on a motor and everything else. engine swaps are costly and take a long time, especially converting to a v8. id seriously consider just getting a 99+ gt they go for fairly cheap if you look around.
