Default Whats needed to add cruise control? 98gt

I am new to the forum and would appreciate some help. I have a 1998 mustang gt that did not have cruise control on it so i am adding it. So far i have put the cruise control module on and the brake cut off switch and checked the fuse but still does not work. Does anyone know what i am missing. Thanks Jason

Interesting, I never knew GT's didn't come with cruise. Even my 248a had it.... Is it a 5 speed or an auto?

what are using to turn it on? did you put the buttons on the wheel like it has from the factory? Seems like becasue your car did not come with C/C the clock spring in the steering wheel would also be different?

If it is a 5 speed, there should be a connector at the clutch to kick off the cruise if the clutch is pushed in. It should plug in right next to the start safety switch. It is separate from the brake switch.

Also agree that the clock spring maybe being different.....

Here are the speed control wiring diagrams for the 2000 MY, your '98 should be the same as the last significant changes were in '96. In the 2003 MY the "redundant" brake pressure switch was eliminated.

switch, etc:

servo:

Note that the switch uses a low current +12V source (derived through the horn relay coil), ground, and three resistors switched to ground to control ON, OFF, SET/ACCEL, COAST and RESUME.

When I installed my aftermarket wheel I wired three momentary switches like this:

I installed the switches into a custom polished alloy plate in the shifter surround:
