Better alternator..
Hey guys...in the past few months I've went through a few alternators due to various issues (amp blew unknowingly, bad battery cable, etc) I've just been getting O'Riely's alternators since it was kinda cheap and i can replace it for free...BUT I'm not wanting to change it again, and i would love to have a better alternator that can take a stereo and high RPM shifts.
I have a question...
Could you use a truck alternator that has a higher amp putout and just swap it with mine??
I ask becaus we did this on my dad's 02 WS6 and it fit like a dream and fixed some issues he was havin w/ startup and idle.

I'm not sure but I think you should be able to use an F150's alternator. I started to look into awhile back but since I don't really need to replace mine, I didn't want to spend the money. I would like to get one that can keep my voltage up at idle though. When I idle for to long the car looses fuel pressure and probably spark and idles really rough.

Auto part alternators are typically junk. Spend a little more and get something that will work and last.
