CAI question

Though I prefer straight shot intakes mainly because you can just pop the hood and see the air filter, allows for much easier inspection and looks better when you're at a car show, unless it's extremely dirty.

will i have any problem with rain if i buy the bbk? my car is a daily driver in the summer. basically what i got from the reply's is i can buy it for looks and it wont hurt to buy it, but the tune will help more.

It won't be easier for the motor to get air, the car will get the same air it did with the factory peice as its not restrictive.

I got one. But only because it was really cheap and I really needed a new filter anyways. Its chrome and looks nice under the hood and gives the car a decent sucking air sound. If you want to get one, that's perfectly fine but don't do it because you think you'll have an gains.

Some of these intakes are a bad idea simply because they are "cold air intakes" that are made of metal and get hot really fast. The air is flowing through the tube which is very hot because it’s metal. Companies like JLT however use PVC plastic type material which might help with heat, but them advertising cold air is a joke because by the time it gets to the intake manifold its hot while having a metal non insulated tube for the air to go through. Plus the bends in the tube it’s surprising to see any gains. They do look a lot better and sound cool!
