Default Air filter for CAI

ok so I bought a 2003 mustang gt, and Ive been doing a few things like fixing broken dash parts, new front tires, etc. Well I looked at the air filter for the CAI... apparently the owner before me never cleaned it or anything... So I ordered a new one... I pulled a smooth one and assumed the air intake was a bbk air intake so I ordered a bbk air filter, well turns out its mac air intake... This may be a dumb question, but will it make a difference if I run a bbk air filter on a mac cai?
