penzoil, quakerstate, catrol GTX, valvoline, mobile1.

I think its all about the same. Rotella and Royal Purple are probably better or have atleast brain washed me into thinking so. I used Vavolinae Full Synthetic and have for the past 6 years. Mobil1 before that.

Its honestly all about the same until you start looking at film. cheap oil is cheap and good oil is good. I'd never use that cheap *** Havoline.

What about filters? And with purple you only have to change it every 7k instead of 3?

Pennzoil Platinum or Quakerstate Ultimate Durability. Both are synthetics and are fairly cheap. Motorcraft filters always. And yes 6 quarts of oil. I use 5k OCIs and if I go over a little it's no biggy.

Sounds good, so with synthetic oil I only need to change it every 7k miles instead of 3?

Yeah. I usually change mine every 5k to be safe but a good synthetic will go for 7k

A good synthetic oil can last a long time but you should still change your filter at the 3000miles/5000km interval

Ive heard rumours that amsoil can last up to 12500miles/20000kms (I wouldn't trust it tho lol)
