How hard is it to replace the shocks on an 01 vert gt?
Thinking of trying to do it. Not a lot of mechanical knowledge but I can figure some stuff on my own. Any tips...advice is welcome. Trying to save some $ on labor costs.

rear is easier and straight forward.
Do you already have your shocks purchased? did you want to OEM replace or upgrade? i paid 170$ shipped for 4 OEM replacement shocks.

Honestly, if you have never done it before, but have access to a jack, and some jackstands. you can do it in a morning or afternoon. It's fairly simple. I think if you know how to change your own oil, you can figure out how to do the shocks and struts..
Front: take off wheels, than loosen the two bolts on the bottom of the shock. Sense your going to be getting rid of them, you can than hold the strut shaft with a pair of vice grips, and loosen the top nut on the strut tower in the engine bay. put the new one in place and tighten the nut while holding the shaft from spinning(your new one will have a hole for either a flat head screw driver in the top like the old one does, orr some other way to hold it.)(My D-specs allow you to thread the nut on, and than once the nut is finger tight, you can hold the shaft above the nut with a wrench.)
Back:
Take off wheels, loosen nut from inside the trunk. take out the bolt on the bottom and let it come out. the new one goes in just as easy.
You can probably do it in 3-4 hours if you have never done it before. It can all be done with hand tools, however air tools and an impact make it a bit easier.
Go for it man. We're all here to help. even if you have to take it apart on a friday night and work on it sat and sun. no worries!
