Default 98 mustang gt

if the ignition switch goes out would it cause the car to die? if not that what about the cam sensor? problem is my wife was driving and the car died and now wont start i have checked forspark and there is none and i dont here the fuel pump prime but after i crank it there is fuel at the rail. i have replaced the crank sensor and the ccrm and all the fuses are good. i am taking the battery and having it checked today but it cranks hard when tryingto start it. please help we are down to the motorcycle and her pos saturn and we need to get this running asap

Sounds like the crankshaft position sensor to me.

Its not your ignition switch. If it were, you'd wouldnt be able to crank at all or it would start for a couple of seconds then die.

I wish I could be of more help, but at least I can help you eliminate that. If you do find it's the ignition, I have a new cylinder with new keys FS but I seriously doubt that's your problem.
