Default Problems with a used Mustang gt

I purchased a 2002 Mustang gt last week and have started to notice little problems with it. First of all the speedometer is about 35 to 40 off but im pretty sure that the previous owner put a t45 in the car instead of the 3650. How would I correct this. Also How can I tell the year of the engine. Im not 100% sure that this is the original engine and was wondering if there was a way to tell what year the engine was by a serial number or somethin. I have a set of underdrive pulleys from summit racing for 01-04 mustang gts and the spacer for the alternator was the wrong size and would not work. All help is appreciated. Thanks

If he put in a T45, there is a good chance that he got the drive train out of an old NPI setup. Does the intake have one temperature sensor or two in the crossover?

Yeah that. The sensors are in the intake behind the alternator. Also, which valve cover is the oil fill in? Driver or Passenger? There are only a couple of visual clues as to which engine you have.

Also it has 11 bolt valve covers which would make it a romeo block right?

Then it's likely still a PI motor. Yes, it's a romeo block.
