did a search and...
Still i found nothing about this exactly..
I have a 96 gt with 106,500 miles on it. I got it a little over a month ago. I don't know what the previous owner used. Which oil do I use( Syn./reg. weight)? Is there and benifet to useing the "high mileage oils"?

if the previous owner used regular oil, dont change to synthetic, just keep using regular oil. well since that you dont know, i would personally call him if you still have his number and ask him.

"High-mileage" oil is designed to do two things.
1. Cause engine seals to expand and reduce or eliminate leakage.
2. It contains a burnoff-inhibitor which helps prevent the oil from burning off if it gets past an engine seal.
I also have a 96 which I bought about 4 months ago with 83K miles on the clock.
I have been running Mobile 1 10W-30 in it.
So far, no problems related to the synthetic oil.

You can always use synthetic oil, it's very well worth the shot because it'll keep everything coated and it'll pump through and into the heads much quicker than conventional oil, which gets very thick when it's cold...
