If it came apart, check the fly wheel also, for heat cracks, and impact cracks.

Well I found a used centerforce stage 2 might grab that and the flywheel from the guy and throw that in. He said it.only has 5k miles on it. Any way to know for.sure if it was beat to hell other than finger wear and heat spots? Any way to know what kind of condition the straps are in? Also would I need an upgraded fork for this clutch? I don't want to have my fork bend.

Bump. Anyone? I saw the clutch and it was a little beat up so I'm going to get a new one. What is the best clutch to hold about 350 to 400 hp flywheek? I'm thinking centerforce is probably the best but I'm open to anything. Also this guy was using the stock fork, do you guys think ill be ok using the stock fork or will it bend?

If you bend the stock fork, something is wrong with your clutch. Ive never heard of one bending.. its a c channel. the design of that alone is pretty stout.

It is rare, but not uncommon, especially with higher clamping force clutches...

I just bought a Centerforce duel friction clutch (link below). Do you think I need an aftermarket fork for this guy? I know a kid who used the stock fork with this clutch in his drag car and didn't bend it, but I know my luck. Cost of the fork is not the issue, it's the fact that this clutch might already be heavy and I don't need the shorter fork making it even worse.

EDIT: I also got my trans out and one of my alignment pins on my flywheel/clutch is busted in half (half in the flywheel half in the clutch). Is this a problem (read: should I remove and put a new one in?) to only have 2 pins in my flywheel for when I put my new clutch in, or will it not bother anything?

dual friction means twin disc yeah? If its a twin disc, the clutch actuation should be extremely easy.

Different friction surfaces so I guess different disks; this clutch also makes use of the weights on the clutch to help clamping force, so that's where some more of the clamping forces comes from. If it's not going to be a heavy clutch I might grab that stronger fork just to be safe.

Anyone have this clutch that can chime in?

I installed a dual friction in mine over a year ago and it is wonderful. You get 90% more clamping force with stock pedal feel. You do NOT need an aftermarket fork (or anything else for that matter).

I also used a Ram flywheel without issue. Once you have it in, I recommend removing the shifter to add fluid. Much easier to pour from the top.

After installation, if the pedal is way up high like mine was, I hooked my foot under the pedal and lifted up - it popped into the proper position and that was it.

Good luck.

Great news! Thanks, that's just what I wanted to hear. I have a solid quad and firewall adjuster so I have to do a bit more work adjusting, but it will all be worth it.
