Default New Engine HP guesses

I just got a 96 Cobra for a screaming deal... So I'm having a reman 4.6 dohc put in it right now. I'm having them put some long tube headers and the matching single cat Hipipe on when they put the engine back in, as well as a CAI and some flowmasters.

I know they're rated at 305 hp stock. Anybody have guesses as to how much power it should be making. If you add up the claims for each of the bolt ons it should be an additional 50-60 horsepower... Which I know isn't realistic.

Thanks

Are you looking for HP at the crank or to the wheels? because tbh crank horsepower doesnt really mean anything when it comes down to it

Either would do. I've heard anywhere 10-20% loss from drive train, so I'd assume stock rwhp to be around 250 something?? so maybe an extra 15-20 at the wheels??

Yeah I said 335, gain of 30, meaning crank hp because the 305 you mentioned is crank rated. Using 15% drivetrain loss, original rwhp based on 305 is 259, added rwhp based on 30 is 25.5, so figure somewhere around 285rwhp. Guestimates ofcourse. A dyno will give you real numbers. MPH at the track is a good barometer too.

That all said. With stock gearing and a decent driver what kind of 1/4 ET should it be good for?

Here is my current set up as of right now.96 stock cobra 4v,JLT RAI,BBK longtubes,BBK catted x pipe and flowmasters. That's pretty much almost the same set up you want.I am getting 288 rwhp and 275 rwtq.I am guessing yours will be around that.I deleted my IMRC's as well.
