hey ya'll my car just started making the sound when i put my driver window up, it makes a sound like it scrubs on something or there is no oil. just wondering if anyone else had that problem and what shall i do? I am very new to mustangs i know everything about hondas though. Its a convertible GT year 2000. 40k miles

I have a 2000 Convert GT also, and my driver said window does that too when i put it down about halfway and roll it back up. If it goes down the whole way and is then rolled up it doesnt do it. I don't know what it is.

My 02 gt coupe does the same thing. Only on the drivers side, very annoying. What causes this?

i am no expert butt i have dealt with window problems in the past, it may just be that you have a faulty or worn out window regulator in your car, my advice would be to take it to a dealer and ask them to look at it otherwise go to a junk yard buy a regulator out of a mustang and replace your old one for that one (the regulator is in the door panel)

yep, my 2000 auto started doing the same damn thing a few months back. i thought it was rubbing up against the window seal cause it only makes the noise when it's almost up.

My 2000 GT makes that scratching noise when its going up and has almost reached the top, its been doing for about two weeks. Im taking the door apart this weekend I'll let you guys know what I find out.

I took my 2004 back to ford, they said it was the seal on the inside. You can see a line in the tint where it was rubbing.
