Default 1996 GT computer

I need a new computer for my GT because my fan constently runs. I have already replaced everything but the computer and my brother has a 96GT 5spd like me and when I did the swap it fixed the fan. The only thing weird is that his computer # wasnt the same as mine. So do I order a computer with his # or order a computer that has my # on it? We both have 96GT 5spds so what should I do?

It shouldnt matter. If the cars are the exact same, their shouldnt be any difference. Put your computer in his car and see if his fan keeps running.

Well thats what im asking. We both have 5 spds but why would we have two different computer codes? I'll probably just order his computer # but I didnt know if it made a huge problem later on down the road.

I dont think that would help anything because I know his computer fixes mine so I know its the computer and nothing else.

I was looking at my wire diagram and the relay is controlled by the computer(PCM) so I figured I'd swap that and it fixed it so I didnt look any further into it since I know what the problem is now.
