Electric Overload

RE: Electric Overload
Don’t do that.
The motor in the window regulators have a gear with shear pins (usually made out of plastic)
Every time you do that you are one step closer to having to dismantle the door remove and replace or fix (then replace) the regulator!

RE: Electric Overload
You said it...
In my old 86 towncar I had a regular go out when I was camping.
Good thing I had a relative in the area who knew what he was doing helped me fix it (Or I'd of had racoons in the car)
Now you might say, well, that would be simpler. Big car... larger doors... easy access for big hands... wrong.
That one regular drives 2 windows. The smaller one then the largre one. You'd not believe the amount of tracks and mokey-motion it takes FORD to accomplish that.
Here is some advice, roll up one window at a time.
Don't be in the habit of pressing both levers until they both go up.
Also, 90% of the time if the regulators do break... They can be repaired, no replacement required.
I'm so glad I have manual windows its one of the nice features of my stang.
One of the benefits to big hands is long arms, and I can deal with the cranks.
