I know it! Besides, who really cares about the energy the light bulbs use in brake and turn signal lamps? When you get down to it, the difference in wattage isnt enough to matter for efficiency sake..lol. I bought them for the looks, but the looks arent so different or "cool" as to justify splicing in the resistors.

I got sucked into the LED stop/tail lamp thing and bought some rather expensive, claimed to be high-end, white 3157 lamps from the more commonly mentioned web source. Measuring their output (on the outside of the tail lamp housing) with a Gossen lightmeter I found their visible output to be only about 85% of the plain ol' Sylvania incandescent lamps.

The incandescent lamps have a lot more red content than either white or red LEDs, and that is what gets through the red lenses...

I noticed the same thing, and im pretty sure I bought the same ones you had, and I switched back to sylvanias. I do like the license plate bulbs I have though...

Yeah--I determined I was much more concerned about having others see my brake lights than being "cool"...
