When I was doing research on wheel spacers, 9/10 people said wheel spacers were perfectly safe as long as they are properly installed, quality hub-centric spacers. A lot of the information I got was from Jeep forums from people who did a fair amount of off-roading where they see a lot more stress than your average daily driver. That being said, I wouldn't take my car on any road courses with them.

Then again, Cliffyk being against them does shake my confidence somewhat. He tends to back up his assertions with a good amount of logic and reason.
