dumb key question-but need an answer
As mentioned in earlier post, I traded a 1994 Corvette for a 1997 Cobra, both cars had som issues, but I think I will end up fine on this deal. Lots of litte fixes needed.
So far new radiator, hoses, and battery (under warranty) still have a few to go....
But here is the question:
The cobra came with two remotes with a key on each. Should the ingnition key also open the doors and trunk (they do not).
Will Ford be able to help me out?

Only by re-keying either the ignition switch or the door locks. A sharp local locksmith may be less expensive.
It sounds as though the ignition lock cylinder was replaced someplace along the line; sometimes they break, sometimes they get broken when a car is stolen...

ugh, that is what I thought
My 1992 Mustang had 2 keys, but 1995 explorer had one. I have had to replace the ignition switch before and then had two keys. Then I decided to put a key in the cylinder and cut it off so only one key was needed.
So ford would not be able to help? I can check with a locksmith and the inernet. How do you replace the battery in the remotes?
